Ani Difranco

Angela Maria Ani DiFranco (born Angela Maria Ani DiFranco) is an American and Canadian musician and singer. She is the author of more than twenty albums. DiFranco's music is classified as alternative and folk. However, they also have influences of jazz hip-hop punk and Funk. She is widely considered to be a feminist icon. Grammy award winner Ani DiFranco has been referred to as the "mother" of the DIY movement and is among the pioneers to establish her own record label in 1990. DiFranco is the daughter of Elizabeth (Ross), and Dante Americo DiFranco. They were introduced at their school, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Her mother is from Montreal as is her father, who has Italian roots. Ani DiFranco sang and wrote 32 Flavors. It is a track from her 1995 album Not a Pretty Girl, which was DiFranco's 6th album for her studio. The song was featured in the soundtrack of the Canadian romantic comedy Better Than Chocolate, released in 1999. In 2013 DiFranco apologized when it was revealed that she was hosting 3 days of workshops in a former Louisiana slave plantation. The workshop was cancelled, however, she did not express any regret. DiFranco apologized a couple of days later. Although she is known as the Little Folksinger her music spans many styles and collaborations that range in a variety of styles from Pete Seeger to Chuck D to Prince. She is a resident of New Orleans. Ani diFranco along with Kristen Ford are together. In her teens, she started making her own songs. The songs were played in coffee shops and bars throughout her teenage years. DiFranco was a graduate aged sixteen at the age of 16, from Buffalo Academy for Visual and Performing Arts High School, was the first to attend classes at Buffalo State College. Ani's new baritone was made by custom Alvarez guitar, designed by Chrys Johnston, who at the time was the Alvarez artist rep. The System 600 preamp is on the instrument. It features a mahogany top as well as the back, which has a fingerboard made of ebony. The model is located with her family in New Orleans where she lives with her husband and children and sidekick Lefty their long-legged dog that can be seen wandering around in the frame while we talk. DiFranco, who is now 30 years old, confesses that looking back over the past been a mixed experience for her. Then she had a bigger successes by releasing Dilate the following year. It is the 1972 single from the American pop group Looking Glass. Elliot Lurie was the Looking Glass guitarist and singer.
